TB to GB Converter
Multiply terabytes by 1,000 to get gigabytes.
Formula
1 TB = 1,000 GB
gigabytes = terabytes × 1,000
Worked example
Convert 2 terabytes to gigabytes
- Multiply by 1,000
- 2 × 1,000 = 2,000
2 TB = 2,000 GB
Good to know
Drive makers sell capacity in decimal units: 1 TB = 10¹² bytes. Operating systems that count in binary show that as 10¹² ÷ 2³⁰ ≈ 931 “GB” (really GiB). Nothing is missing — it is the same number of bytes, counted with a different unit.
