About CalcoraBase

What the site is for

Most people need a quick, trustworthy answer to an everyday math question — a percentage, a discount, how many days until a date, how many cups in a liter — and would like to understand the answer, too. CalcoraBase aims to give both: a tool that works, and a short explanation of the method with a worked example.

How the tools are built

• All calculations run in your browser using plain, open JavaScript. No input is sent to a server.
• The same code that runs the calculators also generates the tables and worked examples on each page, so the text and the tool cannot disagree.
• The math library is covered by automated tests for edge cases: zero, negative numbers, very large and very small values, empty input, division by zero, leap years, month ends and rounding.
• Unit conversions use exact defined factors (for example, 1 inch = 2.54 cm and 1 pound = 0.45359237 kg).
• Numbers are rounded only for display, and results say when they have been rounded.

What the site does not do

CalcoraBase deliberately avoids health and medical tools and does not give financial, legal or tax advice. The money math calculators — interest, loan payments, savings goals, margins — do exact arithmetic on the numbers you enter; they use no assumed market rates, make no recommendations and do not know about fees, taxes or the terms of real products. Please read the disclaimer before relying on a result for anything important.

Who runs it

CalcoraBase is an independent website. It is funded by advertising (when enabled), which keeps the tools free. Advertising never affects how a calculator works or what it shows.

Accuracy is the top priority. If you think a result, formula or explanation is wrong, please get in touch with the page address and the values you entered — corrections are taken seriously and fixed as quickly as possible.
